Tino's Pet Grooming to Open First-Of-Its-Kind Dog Grooming Apprenticeship Programs through U.S. Department of Labor

BRANDON, MS, UNITED STATES, May 13, 2025 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Tino’s Pet Grooming will launch Tino’s Apprenticeship Program, a first-of-its-kind dog grooming apprenticeship through the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), on June 1st. Tino’s Pet Grooming was registered by the DOL as part of the National Apprenticeship System in April, making this dog grooming apprenticeship one of the first of its kind in the nation.

Receiving this unique certification through the Department of Labor will provide Tino’s apprentices with a nationally-recognized accolade and better equip them to provide the highest standards of care for animals across Mississippi and the United States.”

The two-year apprenticeship program will be based out of their Brandon location, and will cover all aspects of the grooming business from client consultations and relationship building to reception and dog anatomy. This paid apprenticeship will provide students with an entry wage that will increase throughout the program. Tino’s Apprenticeship Program offers Mississippians a simple and cohesive path into the grooming industry while equipping them for future grooming jobs or even starting a grooming business of their own.

Tino’s Pet Grooming also recently received their American Kennel Club (AKC) S.A.F.E. (Safety, Assurance, Fundamentals, Education) certification in March, making them the first pet grooming business in Central Mississippi to bear this distinction.

“We realized there are very few apprenticeship programs for dog groomers in the United States that are registered through the DOL, and also very few AKC S.A.F.E. groomers in our area, so we decided to meet those needs in our community,” said Wayne Culipher, co-founder and groomer at Tino’s Pet Grooming. “Through these two initiatives, we now offer new groomers a cohesive program that will teach them the best industry techniques and help them start their grooming journey.”
