MINGORA: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Ameer Haider Hoti on Thursday rejected the results of the census and demanded holding of fresh one in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata).

Speaking at a workers’ convention here, the nationalist politician said that facts and figures of the census were tampered with and they did not accept its’ results. He said no compromise would be made on the rights of Pakhtuns.

Criticising the proposed Education Act, he vowed to resist the proposed privatisation of educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the new law.

He said his party would not accept privatisation of colleges and any harm to teachers under the proposed Education Act.

Haider Hoti said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government had failed on all fronts and the province was facing acute financial and administrative crises.

He said that employees of line departments from that of paramedics to teachers were staging protests against the policies of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

Haider Hot said the PTI was facing internal rifts and PTI’s lawmakers were accusing party’s ministers and ministers blamed chief minister of corruption, adding Ayesha Gulalai also levelled serious allegations against PTI chief Imran Khan.

Criticising the PTI-led for what he argued its failure to handle the dengue outbreak and to contain its spread, he said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak could not defeat the dengue mosquito let alone defeating ANP in election.

He said that the federal government had assured them to construct a road linking Kalam in Swat with Grand Trunk Road but did not honour the commitment. He urged the federal government to fulfill its comment.  He said that party tickets for the upcoming general election would be awarded on merit.
