MADISON, Neb. (KTIV) - A crash early Saturday morning, June 7, in northeast Nebraska, injured a father and his daughter.

The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 32 about 3.5 miles east of Madison at 3:47 a.m.

According to a press release, a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by 28-year-old Ku Say of Madison was headed west when it crossed the center line and entered the south ditch.

The vehicle then drove back across the highway, entered a ditch on the north side and travelled about 20 yards before striking trees and coming to a rest.

Authorities said the driver, and his 5-year-old daughter, were properly restrained and airbags did deploy to protect them from more serious injuries. However, both were transported to Faith Regional Health Services for treatment.

The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office believes Say fell asleep at the wheel causing the vehicle to leave the road. The pickup is a total loss.
