Members of three major rock bands are teaming up for a 2025 concert tour.
The Joe Perry Project, featuring Joe Perry with musicians from Aerosmith, the Black Crowes and Stone Temple Pilots, will play eight U.S. tour dates in August. The only New York show is scheduled for Aug. 23 at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.
Tickets go on sale Friday, May 9, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Attendees must be 18 or accompanied by a guardian; children under 10 are not permitted.
The 2025 edition of the Joe Perry Project will feature Aerosmith guitarists Perry and Brad Whitford with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group’s touring keyboardist/backing vocalist Buck Johnson, along with The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson on lead vocals and Stone Temple Pilots members Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz on bass and drums, respectively.
Ultimate Classic Rock notes that Robinson previously collaborated with Perry on his 2023 solo album, “Sweetzerland Manifesto MKII,” and has performed live with him before. The Black Crowes were also set to open for Aerosmith’s farewell tour, which was canceled due to singer Steven Tyler’s vocal injury and the “Dream On” rockers retired from touring as a group. DeLeo also worked with Perry in the Hollywood Vampires alongside Alice Cooper and actor-guitarist Johnny Depp.
“Well ... it’s time to let the music do the talkin’ again,” Perry said in a statement. “I’m really excited about the JPP line up this year!!!!”
“They’re all busy as hell but thankfully they’re able to carve out some time for this run,” Perry continued. “The set list is gonna include my fav JPP cuts, STP, Black Crowes, and with Brad we’ll be hitting the Aero hits and some deep cuts and then ya never know!!!! Gonna be a BLAST, and if you’ve ever been to one of my shows you know the words ‘GARAGE BAND on STEROIDS’ come to mind! See you there!!!!”
