Shocking images show home of Mark Richardson's brother targeted and taxis torched amid gang war

Gangsters waging war on Edinburgh mob boss Mark Richardson have targeted his brother in a fresh gangland hit.

Crime clan rivals of the cocaine kingpin attacked the home of his younger sibling Dale in the capital on Tuesday morning.

Two taxis were also torched in the city as cops launched probes into both incidents.

Images show blue tarpaulin covering a window after officers attended the home of 35-year-old Dale in Bellenden Gardens at around 8.50am.

A few hours earlier, at 4.40am, two vehicles were firebombed at a car park on Gorgie leased by cab company MH Executive Limited.

Pictures show a white Toyota Corolla covered in scorch marks. A silver Seat Toledo was also photographed with what appears to be damage to the rear windscreen.

An underworld source told the Record that the Dubai-based Mr Big hell-bent on wiping out Richardson has been "biding" his time to launch fresh attacks after a number of arrests were made in connection with the ongoing turf wars in Scotland.

He said: "Things went quiet recently because of the heavy police presence in parts of Edinburgh and the north of Glasgow. But known players have been getting their movements watched.

"Mr Big has just been biding his time and waiting for the right moment to strike again. This isn’t over yet and it won’t be until he is satisfied that Richardson's mob is completely nullified."

Richardson's brother Dale was butchered with a machete in November 2021 after he was targeted by gangland thug George Baigrie at a Tesco store in the capital's Gracemount Drive, hours after he received a police visit warning him of threats to his safety.

Baigrie sliced into Dale's arm and chased him through the store's aisles before he managed to escape. Shoppers and staff witnessed the horrifying attack and calls were made to emergency services.

MH Executive, who lease the land where the taxis were targeted, is owned by Capital Cars boss Stephen Rose.

When contacted by the Record yesterday, Rose said he did not believe the incidents were linked to gangland activity and that the cars in question are leased to self-employed drivers.

A spokesperson for his firm said: "We were made aware of an incident involving two vehicles owned by the company.

"The vehicles were being stored temporarily on a site that has previously been subject to damage, including an incident two weeks ago in which windscreens were smashed and an onsite storage cabin damaged.

"MH Executive rents out vehicles to self-employed drivers within the Private Hire Industry who operate on ride sharing platforms.

"This latest event appears to be an escalation of prior incidents, and we are taking the matter seriously."

47-year-old Rose has a number of business interests. He hit the headlines previously over a yellow Tesla which is used as a private hire cab and features the registration plate TAXI.

The plate cost a whopping £92k - more than the cost of the Tesla itself.

There have been a number of firebombing incidents in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and surrounding areas in recent weeks, with homes and businesses targeted.

A huge police probe into the incidents is ongoing, and a number of individuals have been arrested and appeared in court in connection with them.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.40am on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, officers received a report of two vehicles on fire in the Gorgie Road area of Edinburgh.

"There were no reported injuries. Enquiries into the cause of the fires are ongoing. Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area at the time is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 0416 of May 6, 2025.

"Around 8.50am on Tuesday, 6 May, 2025, we were called to a report of a vandalism at a property on Bellenden Gardens, Edinburgh. There were no reports of any injuries. Enquiries are ongoing."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 4.34am on Tuesday, 6 May, to reports of a car alight on Gorgie Road in Edinburgh.

"Operations Control immediately mobilised one appliance to the scene and firefighters extinguished two cars on fire. There were no reported casualties and crews left the scene at 5.46am after ensuring the area was made safe."
