CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier/WKRC) - One of Greater Cincinnati’s largest banks, Stock Yards Bank & Trust Co., is planning to expand in the region by opening another branch in a fast-growing suburban area.

Louisville-based Stock Yards (Nasdaq: SYBT) has filed applications with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions to open a branch in Liberty Township. It plans to open the location just east of the Liberty Way exit off Interstate 75 in October, Michael Croce, Stock Yards executive vice president and director of retail banking, told Cincinnati Business Courier.

The branch, at 7121 Reagan Way near the corner of Veterans Boulevard, will be Stock Yards’ ninth local branch. It fills a void as the bank's first location in Butler County, one of the top 15% fastest-growing counties in Ohio over the past five years, according to U.S. Census data.
